Our Little Chef

Nolan loves to cook and bake with me. He is always asking for my whisk, cupcake pan, baking sheets and puppets(oven mitts). He takes the bins out of his shelf and pretends that it is an oven. One day I was trying to make dinner and he was also "cooking" in the family room. He kept telling me he needed paper for his pan. I was busily trying to cook and kept telling him that he didn't need paper right now. Finally, he opened the drawer himself and got the paper (foil). He needed it to line his baking sheet. Good thinking!

These days we are constantly reminding Nolan to be gentle, not to run, not to jump all over Cort and not to scream inside.  These moments of calm indoor playing are becoming scarce!
Making gingerbread men.

Carefully putting the pan in the oven with his "puppets" on.

He also grabbed my cork trivets-to protect the couch!

Gingerbread men are ready to eat!

What a resourceful little guy! Is a kiddie kitchen in his near future? Although, I think it's quite creative he uses his shelf as an oven. Playing pretend is way better anyway!

That's so cute! He needs a kitchen playset!
